Can you guess where in Paris this picture was taken?
HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW PARIS? THE CITY IS FULL OF SURPRISING PLACES!
Over the years I’ve become quite intimate with the back streets, local hang-outs and unexpected corners of the city… the better I get to know Paris, the more I love it. I share my favorite spots with my guests on our Best Kept Secrets and Off-the-Beaten-Path sojourns… and, I thought it would be fun for some of you to test your knowledge and get to know the city better.
Please post your guesses! I love seeing your ideas.
HINT: In the Middle Ages this part of Paris was covered with grape vines but these days, this is the only remaining vineyard in the city. It was planted in 1933 as a tribute to the past. Every year the grapes are harvested on the second Saturday of October. The wine is auctioned and fetches mind blowing sums which are donated to charity. (I included the corner of a very famous building in the picture as an additional hint… but you might not recognize it from this angle. Study the building with green shutters and the pink wall just to the left of it. Ring any bells?)
