“A picture speaks a thousand words.”
Lisa is the primary photographer for Sojourner Tours. A visual learner herself, she lovingly captures images of the places we travel to communicate what words cannot express.
As a student of Neil Rappaport, Lisa is passionate about working with natural light and capturing “the decisive moment”. Rappaport spoke of photography was one of the first mediums that really “leveled the playing ground for women” enabling busy housewives to express themselves artistically and inspired Lisa to view the camera as tool of liberation.
Lisa’s favorite photographers include Margret Bourke-White for her stunningly beautiful industrial photographs, Dorthy Lange for the unabashed empathy in her stark depictions of poverty, and Lee Friedlander for the visual irony of his urban street snaps.
