A Postcard from Ile-Sur-la-Sorgue

Wish you were here!

Ile-Sur-La-Sorgue was another recommendation from my mother-in-law’s best friend. We went on a market day and the little streets along the canals were alive with color… and tourists. I would recommend this town to people visiting France on their own as a shopping destination… but it isn’t right for our sojourners. Shopping needs to be done on one’s own pace: some people need a day, others an hour.

The town is famous for antiques so it is a great place to spend the day browsing through shops and a fun place if you want to pick up some souvenirs in a market setting (plan to go on a market day, Thursday or Sunday morning) because the market is geared toward the needs of visitors offering local herbs, pottery, table clothes and more.
